Hello everyone, we finally got off our lazy buns long enough to piece together another post featuring artists/recordings that you may or not heard of …. “Have You Heard?” As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated. We’re not experts here, and don’t claim to be. We just love jazz and the world of diversity it offers with artists and styles!! Peace …
James/Sanborn | Double Vision
“Double Vision” was brilliantly recorded by two of the most recognizable names in the music business keyboardist Bob James and alto saxophonist David Sanborn. The Grammy Winning duo joined their formidable talents to record an album that is armed with sumptuous undertones, layered with an mesmerizing dose of underlying funk curiosity of Marcus Miller unleashed and unapologetically ongoing array of lush arrangements for listeners to delight in whatever environment they choose to listen.
To make this happen, the duo partnered with producer Tommy Lipuma to the session to assemble and award winning cast to join forces to record “Double Vision,” their first and only collaboration. By the end the session, this dynamic duo and friends recorded and album that most can only imagine to record is one of the most successful recordings in the history of contemporary jazz. If you don’t have this one, and you simply adore listener friendly jazz than this is definitely one add to your collection. – The Urban Flux/Music Review
