Logan Richardson | ETHOS -(MP3)- [Inner Circle Music, 2008]

A full, broad sound, wide intervallic leaps, and a dense harmonic approach. A professional horn player since his teens.

New York City-based saxophonist and composer Logan Corea Richardson serves up a unique alto sax sound. Logan’s compositions encompass a whirlwind of textures, drawing from traditional and modern styles.

Kansas City, Missouri: Logan was born in 1980. His formal musical training began with flute studies at the age of twelve. At fourteen, Logan took up the alto saxophone, studying classical and improvised music. Logan soon began playing his horn professionally, and earned a slot as featured soloist with the Kansas City Symphony at age sixteen.  At the Kansas City Jazz Institute and later attending Jazz at Aspen, Logan was fortunate to learn from a who’s who of jazz greats. Logan attended Berklee College of Music and The New School University.
