Dana Lauren

Dana Lauren | It’s You Or No One – [Dana Lauren, 2010]

“She don’t push, don’t pretend. She is a natural singer.” Arturo Sandoval

Jazz vocalist, Dana Lauren is back with her highly anticipated new CD almost 3 years after the release of her debut recording. She brings an all star group of musicians together to create a new sound on these standards, while still maintaining the integrity of each song. Joel Frahm on tenor sax, Manual Valera on piano, Will Graefe on guitar, Luques Curtis on bass, Jake Goldbas on drums and special guest, Christian McBride on bass round Dana’s smooth, sultry vocals.

At the age of 21, Dana Lauren has already performed at some of the most prestigious jazz venues in the Country and recorded with Christian McBride and Arturo Sandoval all while still a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. When asked where she pulls the emotion from to perform these heartfelt standards at such a young age she replies, “I let my guard down and I’m not afraid to open up to my audience. I dig deep within myself to bring out the emotions that give life to each song.”
