[Biography] – Martin Höper was born in 1978. His musical career started in Kalmar, Sweden, playing electric bass with various rockgroups.After switching to the upright bass in highschool and studying jazzmusic he ended up at the royal conservatory of music in Stockholm.There he studied with some of the most prominent bassplayers in sweden including Palle Danielsson. Pretty soon he began his freelance career playing with groups like Fredrik Norén Band, Rigmor Gustafsson, Gustav Lundgren Quartet, Last Days Of April and with electrojazz group KOOP he’s toured Asia, North America and Europe many times.

Currently playing with Thus:Owls, Rigmor Gustafsson, Peter Jöback, Claes Janson, Platina Jazz, Martin Höper Quartet feat. Jonas Östholm, Chris Montgomery and Linus Lindblom, Carl Bagge Trio and many others.

[Expected Release Date: January 25, 2012]

Theo Bleckmann, Hello Earth

After tackling American maverick composer Charles Ives and receiving a Grammy nomination for it, vocalist Theo Bleckmann now takes on the mysterious songbook of British pop recluse Kate Bush. This project goes beyond merely re-creating Kate’s Bush music, taking it into other realms of sound and interpretation. Bush’s œuvre is indeed mysterious and often enigmatic in nature: unusual song forms, oracular lyrics amd unpredictable meter- and harmony-changes are an anomaly in pop music, making it the perfect vehicle for Bleckmann’s distinctive, interpretive spirit and interest in the unusual. Even though Bush still remains a household name, it is fair to say that her music is not your usual run-of the mill boy-meets-girl/boy-loses-girl fare. Her use of British and Irish myths, her references to psychology, literature and film, her meticulously multi-layered productions and her unusually high voice make her idiosyncratic body of work challenging for other artists to interpret.

[Biography] – Born in Karachi, Pakistan, removed at the age of four to relocate to Southern California, schooled at the University of Southern California and the Manhattan School of Music in jazz and classical music, as well as a pilgrimage in India under the tutorial of master percussionist, Ustad Alla Rakha, Rez Abbasi is a vivid synthesis of all the above stated influences and genres.

Making New York home for the past 18 years, Abbasi has developed a unique sound both as a composer and an instrumentalist and is considered by many to be one of the foremost modern jazz guitar players the world over. He has honed his skills with performances through out Europe, Canada, the U.S., Mexico and India. He has performed and recorded with many jazz greats including, Grammy winner Ruth Brown, Peter Erskine, Kenny Werner, Barre Phillips, Tim Hagans, Marc Johnson, Billy Hart, Marvin ‘Smitty’ Smith, Gary Thomas, Rick Margitza, Dave Douglas, DD Jackson, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Tony Malaby, George Brooks, Pandit Ronu Majumdar, Pandit Kadri Gopalnath, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Marilyn Crispell, Greg Osby, Howard Levy and a host of others.
