Peter Bernstein -[]- Live at Smalls [ SmallsLIVE, 2012]

This is the first live recording for this historic trio. Peter Bernstein, Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart started their influential organ trio as music students back in the late-1980 s and have all become celebrated musicians on their respective instruments. After recording for Warner Brothers, they toured frequently but the trio was never captured live. Here is an exciting three nights of music, expertly captured in beautiful high-quality audio.

The trio performs some of their favorite hits such as ‘Chant’ and ‘Milestones.’ Bernstein and Goldings also contribute some originals to the mix. To hear this group live is to understand why they are so celebrated among musicians. This is a mature group, subtly interacting, creating together and communicating.
