“Street Jazz“ is the title of street grooves produced by Mark Mixx. By wanting to use live instruments Mark Mixx decided to put together a cartel of musicians. He knew what sound he likes to produce for the street jazz sound. First he added Tony Parker on (bass), Kevin Tubbs on( keys), Jeff Canady on (drums), Derrick Thompson on (guitar), Johnny Barnes on (trumpet), Steve Cooley (trumpet), Marty Montgomery (sax), Charles Jones (trombone), Derrick Bartel on (guitar), Deblon Jackson on (flute), Matt Jones on (sax), Zhelin on (violin), and Mark Mixx on (keys and percussion). These are the instruments that you would often hear throughout the Street Jazz sound.
In the winter of 2009 Tha Street Jazz Cartel released their 1st album on a Detroit based label called Isis Style Music. With their leading single “Sunny Dayz” featuring Johnny Barnes leading on trumpet and Richard Roberson on (vocals) took off in the city of Detroit making it one of the most successful jazz ballroom songs. “Sunny Dayz”, “Keytopia”, “Midnite”, “Smooth Sailin” also has made it on Detroit radio stations and stations in other major cities .Now the album which is entitled Mark Mixx feat Tha Street Jazz Cartel album is in your local stores now.
