The Project H -][- Become Light –MP3– [Digital Boy, 2012] –

Ryan Heinlein is a doctoral student at the Conservatory of Music and Dance at The University of Missouri- Kansas City. He received his bachelors and masters degree in trombone performance from Wichita State University. He began playing trombone at the age of eleven and has been playing professionally since the age of fifteen.

As a performer, Ryan is known as one of the most versatile trombonists in the Kansas City area and has quickly become a first call musician for all genres. He is the lead trombonist for the New Jazz Order big band as well as Bobby Watson’s Concert Jazz Orchestra. He has also performed with The Northland Symphony, El Mambo Orquestra, the Tommy Dorsey orchestra, the Harry James orchestra and can be seen playing with area rock, reggae, R&B and hip hop acts. Ryan has studied with Russ Widener, JoDee Davis, Paul McKee, Steve Dekker and has received coaching from Elliot Mason and Wycliffe Gordon. Continue reading →

Russell Kirk and the Path -][- To Journal Square –MP3– [Inner Circle Music, 2012] –

Saxophonist/Composer Russell Kirk in his relatively short, but rather illustrious career has developed a unique and innovative sound. A combination of highly developed facility on the saxophone with mature expression as a performer make Russell a rising force on the scene. Defiantly one of the faces two watch less than 30 years old.

Kirk, a Buffet Crampon USA Performing Artist, is regularly heard throughout the New York metropolitan area. As a solo artist, Russell has performed and recorded with a diverse array of celebrated groups, ranging from The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic. In early 2009 Kirk was signed to Greg Osby’s Inner Circle Music record label and will produce his debut album later this year. Continue reading →
