Caravana Sereia Bloom Focuses on Bohemian Journeys and Musical Relationships

Brazilian vocalist Céu

Brazilian sensation Céu announces her North American summer tour in support of her new travel-inspired record, Caravana Sereia Bloom which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Brazilian Chart. After completing the European leg of her tour with stops in France, Germany and the UK where she performed on the legendary program Later…with Jools Holland, Céu returns to play the US and Canada on June 9th. Céu will be joined by fellow Brazilian musician and Six Degrees label mate Curumin, who is releasing his new album Arrocha on June 5th. Continue reading →

It was nearly eight years ago that Mexican born pianist-composer Mark Aanderud joined forces with Argentinian drummer Hernan Hecht. Their chemistry was immediate and natural. “The first things we did were all related to free music, with electronic elements or not, but always with the idea of creating songs or forms in the moment,” says Aanderud. “We do have some incredible magic going on, inasmuch as we can play concerts or record without ever speaking of music, and never repeating ideas or stifling development. I’ll have to admit, it’s been awhile since I’ve pampered my listening space with any solo projects by the renowned bassist Eddie Gomez. Nonetheless, the time has come. Gomez is here with an inexhaustible new recording titled “Per Sempre” that’s ready, auspicious, and refined by nurturing sounds waiting for jazz aficionados to submerge themselves into with repeated listens.

At an early bassist extraordinaire Eddie Gomez moved from Santurce, Puerto Rico eventually land in the metropolis of New York City. Lin-Manuel Miranda, actor and Tony Award-winning creator and composer-lyricist of Broadway’s In the Heights, will join Arturo O’Farrill’s GRAMMY® Award-winning ensemble, The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, for its 10th Anniversary season celebration, “Música Nueva 5: Big Band Poetry Jam & Beyond.”

“I am excited to be a part of such an historic event,” says Miranda. “This will truly be one of the greatest celebrations the Nuyorican Poetry movement has seen and I’m proud to share the stage with such a talented group.
