Esperanza Spalding To Host “Groundbreaking Music” Friday Night For Magic Johnson’s “Aspire” TV Network

Aspire, the television network from Magic Johnson Enterprises, today announced its fall line-up of hosted weekly prime time program blocks featuring the best African-American films, music and comedy. A new weekly feature, ”Groundbreaking Music,” hosted by bassist, vocalist, composer and bandleader Esperanza Spalding, premieres on Friday, October 5 at 8:00 p.m., with “Earth Wind and Fire Live.” Other music and performance specials the show will air include “Beyond the Steps: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater” and “Dorothy Dandridge Singing at Her Best.” Continue reading →

Nathan Douds is an active freelance percussionist, pianist, composer, and educator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance from Youngstown State University and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies: Applied Piano from Bowling Green State University. Nathan has been performing for over 15 years, has played in multiple diverse genres, and has toured internationally.

He has worked with many divergent artists including: Joe Lovano, Kenny Werner, John Hollenbeck, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Bobby Selvaggio, Sean Jones, Paul Ferguson, and David Morgan. -[Excerpt | Biography]-
