From playing jazz gigs as a leader/sideman or in a big band to performing classical solo recitals and concerts with chamber groups, Darryl Yokley has enjoyed working with some of the greatest musicians in a variety of genres.

The title “Heart of the Matter” by Wolfgang Haffner’s new album is definitely more than a play on words a matter of the heart -. Therefore “a matter of the heart” – his job for Germany was highly decorated, winning among others the Echo Jazz 2010 drummer, since He began his career with 18 years in the band of Albert Mangelsdorff. The following work for numerous national and international stars and the participation of over 400 albums testify. But only since he as ACT artist makes his own albums, he feels the “heart of the matter” close: “I no longer feel only as a drummer, but as a universal musician. Pianist/composer Frank Kimbrough has been active on the New York jazz scene for nearly 30 years. He is currently a Palmetto recording artist, having previously recorded as a leader for OmniTone, Soul Note, Igmod, and Mapleshade. Frank was a founding member and composer-in-residence of the Jazz Composers Collective (1992 – 2005), and during the Collective’s existence played in nearly twenty of its associated groups. He continues to perform solo concerts and with his trio, and is otherwise in demand as a sideman. Frank’s playing has been recognized by his inclusion in the Downbeat Critics Poll each year since 2001, and his recordings are often included in jazz critics’ year’s-end top-ten lists.
