Toots Thielemans (European Quartet), 90 yrs.

This past April, Toots Thielemans, arguably the most famous harmonica player worldwide, turned 90-years old. To celebrate this milestone, Thielemans is releasing a live CD/DVD package with the support of his European quartet – pianist Karel Boehlee, drummer Hans van Oosterhout and double-bass player Hein Van de Geyn. The album is comprised of eleven tracks recorded over the past five years during Thielemans’ latest globetrotting tours while the accompanying DVD focuses on his group’s latest concert in Japan. Blazin’ Quartet -][- JALKAN BAZZ – [Challenge Records International, 2012] –

Jalkan Bazz is the second album of the Blazin’ Quartet, recorded with producer and guest guitarist/vocalist the cult artist from Yugoslavia – Rambo Amadeus. The album is published in ex-Yugoslavian territory by Metropolis Records and besides sale directly from the band will be soon available in the rest of the world.

This young band takes regard of no musical borders. They mix everything they like and feels good in order to take the listeners to a trip in their own world. Just like being on a market on which you can find everything from dates to cheap electronics. Continue reading →
