Alison Wedding started her music career at age two, singing for family and friends in the living room. But it was not until she walked into a jazz ensemble at her fine arts high school in Dallas, Texas, that she was first introduced to jazz. The harmonies, chord progressions, and rhythms fascinated her. She listened constantly to horn players, learning their solos, and with the help of her mentor Dave Alexander, Alison began to explore improvisation, which has become one of her greatest skills. Too Blue Lou

Lou Montelione returns to head his new group “Too Blue Lou and The Groove.” Aiming for an August release, Lou will be releasing The Birth of Hip Bop.

Hip Bop is a genre of Jazz that emerged during the early part of the millennium.  It might be described as a unique blend of groove oriented improvisation, scat vocals and rap, played over heavy beats and a traditional walking bass.  Too Blue Lou And The Groove introduced this new concept on their debut album entitled, “The Birth of Hip Bop.” – jazzheads.com
