Born in Buffalo NY, Will Holton has been playing the sax for over 10 years and “wowing” the public professionally for the past 2 years. Starting his humble beginnings by playing at home when his father gave him his first saxophone as a gift in his junior year of high school, he honed his talent in church on Sundays and throughout the many spiritually musical performances throughout the years. Will Holton recorded 2 cds with the international choir “The New Beginnings Chorale Ensemble” and acknowledging that “God has a plan for me”, he also graciously performed for the American Cancer Society and for the auspicious sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha and Zeta Phi Beta. Bill Anschell, Brent Jensen and Chris Symer -][- BLUEPRINTS –Mp3– [Origin Records, 2012] –

As a follow-up to their lauded duo recording, “We Couldn’t Agree More,” soprano saxophonist Brent Jensen and pianist Bill Anschell decided to enhance their tonal palette, eliciting help from bassist Chris Symer as they explore a set of jazz standards with an uninhibited, free-wheeling interplay. Reminiscent of the great duo and trio recordings of Lee Konitz, Jimmy Giuffre and the like, their in-the-moment creations are singular and timeless. “We Couldn’t Agree More” consistently throws sparks at the listener and comes with about as high a recommendation as I can give an album.? – Chris Robinson, Earshot Jazz.

Early Praise For Fortune Songs:

“Debut album from soprano saxophonist Lovell-Smith, and I’m not sure she could’ve made a more impressive introduction. A quintet rounded out with trumpet, piano, drums, and bass. Tantalizing melodies, a deft use of dramatic tension, and tunes that nicely straddle the divide between new- and old-school jazz. I’m thrilled with this album, and happy to make it my Pick of the Week.”

The signature hook by the legendary alto-saxophonist David Sanborn has positioned him to be a pillar in the jazz community. I understand, some may dispute this, nonetheless he’s undeniably one of the most prominent voices in today’s music. If you dig contemporary jazz, than this two disc collection of music is well-worth the cash for those of you who may not have these hand-picked songs by Sanborn for this project. –Rob Young | Urban Flux Media

Cameron Ross, NEW PERSPECTIVE

Cameron Ross -][- NEW PERSPECTIVE –Mp3– [Cameron Ross Music, 2012] –

Cameron, a native of Osceola, AR, comes from a heritage deeply rooted in God and music. As a child, he always knew that he had a place in music, but didn’t know exactly where. That all changed when he entered the 6th grade. Determined to play the drums, he signed up for middle school band. However, his parents told him that he had to play saxophone.

“I didn’t want to play it because it had too many buttons.” After being tired of always getting last chair in band class, he decided to take his sax home and actually practice it. This resulted in him getting first chair and he has been soaring since. -[Excerpt | Biography]-

“Some of the earliest memories that I can remember are the ones that involve music.” —Cameron Ross
