One of the most legendary and oldest music labels, Blue Note, has decided to combine their prowess in music selection with the high quality vinyl that Music On Vinyl provides. They have joined forces to release the latest Blue Note Trip on vinyl in conjunction with the CD release (Blue Note Trip Late Nights and Blue Note Trip Early Mornings), and now, as promised, they are going back to the roots of this essential compilation series.

DJ Maestro dug deep into the Blue Note catalog to come up with this gem of a trip, with material from the likes of David Axelrod, Booker Ervin, Angela McCluskey, Elmer Bernstein, Julie London, Lee Morgan, Pete La Roca, Peggy Lee, Paolo Fresu, Grant Green, Lou Rawls, Martin Denny, Dinah Washington, Andrew Hill, Marlena Shaw, Herbie Hancock, Stacey Kent and Duke Pearson. On the menus this week, we have pianist Geri Allen and her fabulous group Timeline and her newest offering “Live” is our featured album of the week.
